A lifelong Shreveport resident with 31+ years of legal and judicial experience, Judge Sheva M. Sims has built a record of fairness, service, leadership, and compassion in the courtroom and throughout the community.
Judge Sheva M. Sims has proudly served as Judge of Shreveport City Court, Division D, since first being elected in 2011. She was re-elected in 2014 and again in 2020 without opposition, reflecting the trust placed in her by the community.
A graduate of Dillard University and Southern University Law Center, Judge Sims has 31+ years of legal and judicial experience. Before taking the bench, she practiced law in civil and criminal litigation, small claims matters, and domestic cases, while also serving as an educator, mentor, and civic leader.
